Jamal Lowe scored his first professional goal and his first for Portsmouth since joining in January from Hampton & Richmond Borough, in Pompey’s 3-1 win over Yeovil Town at Fratton Park.

With the scoreline at 2-1, Lowe was introduced into the action on 77 minutes replacing Carl Barker and it took him less than two minutes to make an impact, finding the back of the net from the tightest of actions.
He said: “It was my first goal and it came at the Fratton End – I couldn’t really ask for much more than that.
“I just bundled my way through and it was quite similar to the one I scored for the reserves earlier in the week.
“I could have crossed the ball, but thought I’d try to squeeze it in and thankfully it’s gone into the back of the net.
“When it went in I was trying to jump into the crowd, but Kyle Bennett had me in a head-lock, so probably stopped me getting a yellow card.
“It’s a weight off my shoulders, so hopefully the gates will now open and I can get more and more.”
